
Jazmine Laura Sullivan was born in and lived from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother has been a backup singer in the past at Philadelphia International Records. Her father offered her a job as the curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She and her family then moved into the historical landmark. In 2005, she graduated from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts with singer-music major. Sullivan performed as the contralto for the choir of children, then in the years later, she sang in the adults ' choir. Sullivan received little exposure to secular music. She recalls that she was in her 11th year when someone requested her to sing in a solo at church. She wasn't fully ready. "Then when McDonald's had a competition for children in cities of the world I was invited to perform 'Accept what God Allows' on It's Showtime in the Apollo and the audience responded really well". In the year 13 she performed with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan was 15 when she was signed for the first time to Jive Records. At the age of 15 She was signed by Jive Records. She made an entire album in Jive Records however it was never made available for release. Sullivan was then removed out of the company. They had a strong working connection to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced numerous tracks for her, including "Backstabbers", which was produced by Timbaland.
