Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958 in very poor circumstances. Her mother was teacher at a local school and was an unremarkable actor while her father sold cars. Jennifer was the youngest child from her extended family. She often accompanied her mother, who was employed as a schoolteacher, to theater performances. Jennifer found her performance amazing. When Jennifer was just five years old the divorce of her parents took place. Jennifer lived in British Columbia for most of her childhood when her mother and remaining four kids moved to the province. Jennifer wasn't a student however, as a child she was very artistic. When she was a kid Jennifer often became the victim of bullying in Canadian schools. The theater interest began to wane throughout her time in high school in the end, and consequently she took part in plays as an extra with help from her mother. The mother of her children encouraged the entire family to become passionate about the art of making. She then immediately started to act.
